Flooring questions answered
Can I compare carpet, vinyl and laminate on one visit?
Yes — that's the point of the visit. We bring all three, so you can put a laminate board next to a carpet sample in the hallway, or lay a vinyl in the kitchen and see where it meets the lounge floor.
What flooring do you recommend for a kitchen?
Usually vinyl or LVT. Both cope with spills and are easy to mop, and LVT gives a convincing wood or stone look. We'll bring samples so you can see them against your units and worktops.
Is laminate a good idea in a bathroom?
We generally steer people towards vinyl or LVT for bathrooms, because they handle standing water far better. Laminate comes into its own in lounges, dining rooms, hallways and bedrooms.
How do you finish the join between two different floors?
With a door plate or threshold strip, so the change from carpet to laminate or vinyl is neat and nothing catches underfoot. Plates are included on our full house deals.
Does a hard floor need a level subfloor?
Yes. Laminate and LVT will show every dip and ridge underneath, and an uneven base shortens their life. We check on the visit and can screed or ply-board the floor first, priced into your quote.
Can I spread the cost with monthly payments?
We don't offer finance. Instead we keep our prices as low as we can by not running a shop. We accept cash and all major credit and debit cards.
